New Feature: Weekly Reads

March 30, 2009 By: Rebeca Category: Weekly Reads

J. Kaye of J. Kaye’s Book Blog has inspired many readers to start a new feature on their blogs. It’s called,It’s Monday! What Are You Reading This Week? I liked the idea so much that I thought I would do something similar. Starting today, I’m kicking off Weekly Reads. Below are the books I’m currently reading this week:

  • Etta, Gerald Kolpan
  • In the Woods, Tana French
  • One Nation Under Dog: Adventures in the New World of Prozac-Popping Puppies, Dog Park Politics, and Organic Pet Food, Michael Schaffer

I’m hoping that this new feature keeps me better organized and reading more–although that seems impossible since I feel I’m constantly with my nose in a book. Every week I’ll post new books, books completed, and accompanying reviews–I guess I’ll be pulling some all nighters.

  1. I am so glad you are joining. I’ve been doing this for two months now and am stunned at how much it keeps this A.D.D. reader on track. ;)

You have a great list. I really want to read French’s book!

  2. My library has ordered Etta and I’m first on the list to read it! I hope you like it.

    J. Kaye,

Thanks for the compliment. I know all about A.D.D. I pick up one book, put it down and then another. Finally found three that have kept my attention going on for more than 5 minutes.

    Lisa,

The review should be up for Etta later this week.

  5. Um, I’d like to be exiled at the beach! Need an assistant??? When the kids were still living at home we’d go to Maine each summer for a heavenly week at the shore (much too short).

In the Woods is on my shelf. My husband liked it. I don’t know why I haven’t read it yet. Hope you enjoy it.

  8. Hi Rebeca, thanks for visiting my blog. Yes, Bailey is a JRT. She’s ten years old and a real member of the family. JRTs are a wonderful breed, aren’t they? I love the names of your dogs – do you find you have to explain them a lot? I heard recently that the JRT people in England want to rename the breed Parson Russell Terriers. Did you hear anything about that? Maybe they already did. We still refer to her as a Jack. I added your blog to my Google reader so I can follow your reviews. Nice to meet you!
